Please join us on Sunday, February 26, 2012, when Avonova presents the Brazilian ensemble Kata-vento led by Brazilian composer Carlos Oliveira.  The show starts at 3 PM and the admission is set at $15.  Kata-vento has a sound that is completely unique, with the instrumentation of three flutes, guitar and percussion. Oliveira is inspired by the music of Brazil, specifically the northeast where he was born. Often evocative of the pifano flute from Northeastern Brazil, Oliveira’s compositions also delve into realms of Jazz, Samba, Maracatu, Choro, and “Cholypso.”
